Broadband networking vendor ZyXEL has appointed former Cisco SMB channel man Andrew Woolhead as its new channel account manager, completing a four strong channel-focused line-up.

Woolhead spent three years in Cisco's clutches and brings over a decade's worth of channel experience in both the vendor and distributor communities, including roles with BT and Ingram Micro.
ZyXEL said the team would be charged with development a new strategy aimed at encouraging higher levels of engagement between the firm and its channel.
ZyXEL UK and Ireland channel sales manager Antony Byford, himself a recent recruit from Computer 2000, said the company was looking to up levels of investment in its resellers.
"We see good opportunities for us to increase sales of our solutions in both the commercial and public sector. We have specific propositions for a number of vertical markets, such as education, hospitality and healthcare, and we'll be looking to engage with partners that have a specific focus and expertise in these and other markets," he said.
