Load-balancing specialists Kemp are planning to use some of the proceeds of venture capital backing to increase its foothold and levels of channel support in the UK.
The vendor, which targets the SME end of the load-balancing market, recently received $16m in backing last month from venture capitalist led by Edison Ventures and is using that cash to bolster its position across Europe.
Leigh Bradford has been appointed as UK sales manager to drive growth in the region, supported by a European HQ that has been set up in Limerick.
He said that it was looking to work with more resellers and because Microsoft was putting more emphasis on load-balancing in its Exchange and Lync programmes there was a natural fit with dealers with those skills.
George Zervos, KEMP sales director for EMEA, said that it would be making further investment in its UK team bringing on people to support channel partners.
"Kemp has grown organically and is a privately held company that has been present in the UK and Europe but we want to develop in Europe," he said.
