ZyXEL UK managing director and vice president of European channels Lee Marsden is to take on the role of European president following a reshuffle that has seen predeccesor Gordon Yang take on a worldwide function.

Marsden will continue to serve as UK boss while a replacement is sought. Meanwhile, Netgear EMEA sales vice president Jean Michael Bielli has joined to fill the vacant European channel post.

The firm has also been recruiting extensively for its UK business, and is targeting growth of 17% in 2012. The UK channel operation, currently run by ex-C2000 man Antony Byford, is looking out for new partners to help it meet this target, said Marsden.

"We're currently a half billion dollar company, and the aspirational goal is to be a billion dollar company," he told MicroScope. "By putting fresh eyes on the business we can look to drive outwards to find those new opportunities."

"Over the past year we have seen strong sales through our distributor and reseller network and we will continue to build on that momentum," he added.
