Unified comms (UC) specialist Aastra is to expand the number of its product lines available through Westcoast as part of a drive to widen and deepen its channel route to market.

Having distributed its Lync deskphone portfolio through Westcoast for just over a year, the vendor now plans to give Westcoast resellers access to its call manager, contact centre functionality products and Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) apps as well.
The distie launched its own reseller UC package in October 2011, bringing together solutions from HP Networking, Microsoft and AudioCodes in response to increased cost consciousness among buyers in the latter half of the year.
Westcoast solutions commercial manager Paul Harman said UC was a "massive growth focus for us in 2012".
Aastra UK managing director Alan Reeve added: "Resellers now recognise the margin value in the voice applications market and are gaining traction in this sector. It is truly significant that Westcoast should choose to expand its partnership with [us]."
