The sense of fear among the IT director community might be greater than resellers estimate with worries about risk and management worrying the customer community.

Speaking at a Kaseya managed services event in Reading this morning Rob Bamforth, principal analyst at Quocirca, said that at a recent event with IT directors the worry over risk had been higher than expected.

"IT directors are a little bit more nervous and need a little bit more support. Channel support and services  will make them feel better about these risks," he said.

He added that along with risks, which had not been helped by recent high profile outages of public cloud systems, there wet challenges managing the proliferation of devices.

"They are going to need help from somewhere with that," he added "This needs proper management."

He said the best way was through deploying a managed services approach taking a complete view of all devices, both those issued corporately and brought into work by staff.
