The legal spat between Apple and Samsung continues to deepen with the iPhone 4S, unveiled last night, now the target in the ongoing row between the two vendors about patents.
Apple disappointed many by announcing the 4S rather than an iPhone 5 but Samsung was quick to respond moving to try and block the sale of the smart phone in Italy and France arguing that it infringed its patents.
This move comes after weeks of Samsung being on the back foot with sales of its tablets being blocked across Europe as the result of legal action taken by Apple in a move to protect its patents.
There was widespread criticism that Apple had not handled the launch of the iPhone 4S well taking the shine off Tim Cook's first solo performance as CEO with Steve Jobs having stepped down.
Although the latest phone offers an 8MP camera and a dual-core A5 chip it has been seen by many as a chance for Android to exploit the lack of a fresh product and the share price of Apple dropped after the announcement last night.
