Outspoken VADition marketing and business development director Barrie Desmond is to move into a new job at Exclusive Networks, which guzzled up VADition at the end of June.
In his new role of director of marketing and global accounts, Desmond will take on responsibility for tying up Exclusive's pan-European marketing strategy following a recent bout of acquisition-fuelled expansion.
He will also take the lead on key relationships with global reseller partners, said Exclusive, which distributes vendors including Fortinet and Kaspersky within the UK, and has relationships on the continent with Cisco, Radware and Sophos, among others.
Desmond joined VADition in 2007 and before it was acquired helped steer the firm through a lengthy growth spurt based around a concept the firm referred to as the 'social enterprise.'
"Replicating what we've achieved at VADition will be a hard act to follow, but as we move to the next stage of the social enterprise, the 'Smobile Enterprise' I believe Exclusive will have a vision that will have distinct appeal among partners looking to pursue a higher margin model," said Desmond.
Added Exclusive CEO Olivier Breittmayer: "Our partners continue to look to us for leadership in defining sustainable, high value opportunities and we can only do that by ensuring our view of the market is well understood and well aligned with our vendors and resellers."
