Michael Battle, former RM service manager, is heading to public sector hardware supplier Stone as director of services, a newly-created role designed to strengthen its service provision in the public sector and education markets.
Battle, who has 30 years cumulative experience in the industry, most recently within competitor RM, where he managed a service desk supporting around 60,000 users in over 100 schools.
He will be tasked with overseeing the delivery of customer services and support, as well as helping drive the evolution of the firm's proposition.
"No industry sector can afford to stand still, and the public and education sectors are no different. With progress comes radical change in the support services required," said Battle.
"It will be an important part of my role to ensure that the services Stone provides mirror those that the industry needs," he added.
Stone chief exec James Bird added: "Mick's experience in the market makes him a critically important addition to our management team.... his familiarity with the education market and the public sector make him an ideal fit for our organisation."
