Insight UK has taken the wraps off a service designed to provide support for the growing number of Apple products being used in the corporate environment as consumerisation starts to increase Mac use in the workplace.

With more firms adopting a bring your own device approach to IT the number of iPads, iPhone and Apple laptops turning up in offices has increased and so has the need to ensure they are connecting securely and sticking to company compliance guidelines has become a pressing issue.

In response Insight has launched its Apple Solutions offerings that will help customers open up access to iOS devices in the knowledge they can maintain IT governance, security and service levels.

Services that have been launched today include checking the network can support the devices, a configuration management tool, virtual desktop and applications as well as developing bespoke apps with customers.

"The growth of Apple within the enterprise has been driven by users wanting more flexibility and control over the tools that they use to be productive. As iPhones and latterly iPads have been taken up within businesses, the IT teams for these organisations have to provide the right levels of support for these devices, as well as making sure that company security policies are followed," commented Emma de Sousa, regional vice president, UK and Northern Europe at Insight.

"The new services that we have launched today are in response to these general trends and the demands of the customers that we work with, whether this is the first time that they have used Apple or they are veterans of using Apple technology," she added.
