Centrix Software is planning to expand its operations and put some cash into research and development of cloud and virtualisation products after securing $10m of investment.

The UK headquartered software firm is looking to establish Centrix Software Inc to grow its operations in the US using the funds extending its channel network, which it has been building already in America.

Lisa Hammond, CEO at Centrix Software, said that the funding came at a good time because a lot of customers were looking for help working out where they should be investing and software that helped measure IT consumption was useful.

"We are delighted to have secured an investment of this scale in such a difficult economic and investment climate. It will be the accelerator for the development of our products and our plans to expand our reach into new markets and to new customers," she said.
