User virtualisation demands continue to develop

Virtualisation demands are becoming more complex as customers look to replicate some of the multi-tasking they enjoy in the physical world in their virtual environments.

The result is a change in the functionality being offered by those servicing that market with backup and recovery being one area that users want to be more flexible with.

Speaking to MicroScope on the launch of version six of its backup product Ratmir Timashev, CEO of Veeam, said that it had incorporated demands from users to offer multi-backup windows as they looked for more flexibility in the way they operated.

It has taken time for some customers to get to grips with the differences between virtualisation and traditional infrastructure but now they have got more on top of it the demands for product enhancements has increased.

Timashev said that it communicated with resellers and customers when it came to working out what functionality to add in a new version and had incorporated the main requests with version 6.
