The Sybase mobile solutions, which cover application development, device management and security, will be available to SAP VARs that are authorised to sell SAPBusinessObjects and SAPBusiness All-in-One.
Friedrich Neumeyer, SAP senior vice president, Volume Reseller and Service Partners, Global Ecosystem and Channels, said the move would allow the company to reach a wider range of customers. Partners would be able to offer industry and role-specific mobility solutions that matched the advent of more powerful smartphones and tablets.
Elliott Garofalo, senior vice president for the SME market at long-term SAP partner Optimal Solutions, said the Sybase solutions would enable the company to offer "an extremely attractive mobility stack that integrates business processes, mobile platforms and development tools", adding that it would be able to "move into the market for mobility solutions at full speed".
SAP announced plans to acquire Sybase in May last year and the deal was completed in July 2010.
