Unified threat management (UTM) specialist Cyberoam has outlined its ambitions to carve out a greater share of the UK market.
The vendor has just appointed its first senior UK management and is planning to expand both its own team as well as recruiting more resellers now it can offer greater levels of country support.
Even though it has been running the UK without a local office the UTM vendor has been able to lean on its distribution partners - e92plus, Interactive Ideas and VCW Security - to build up a core network of around 50 resellers but now wants these numbers to grow more
"UTM is being offered as a replacement for a firewall but most of those are no longer good enough, particularly those being used by SME customers," said Hemal Patel, managing director and CEO of Cyberoam.
Patel said that it had given itself the target of getting up to around 300 resellers over the next 18 months and would offer those that wanted to sell free training and hand holding through the certification process.
Ricky Knights, who was recently appointed as UK channel manager, said that it was adding to its current partner base at a fairly rapid rate with 30 resellers having started to go through the process of signing up in the last two months.
