Speaking to MicroScope, Nessa Lynchehaun, newly-appointed UK and Ireland channel director, said there would be some fine-tuning of the vendor's partner programme to take advantage of the move.
She added that Mimecast believed the release of Office 365 would present a huge opportunity for partners to move customers onto new platforms.
"We're going to keep the cloud messaging strong, and will be running joint events with Microsoft to open up bigger services opportunities," she said. "I see our role as helping partners get comfortable with the cloud."
Lynchehaun has been with Mimecast since 2008, having previously worked for firms including Websense and NetIQ.
Previously UK partner manager, she was promoted this week after former channel boss Julian Martin moved to a business development role.
