Microsoft exec Brad Brooks has become the latest high-profile company man to jump ship after being appointed by Juniper Networks to run its global enterprise marketing efforts.

As corporate vice president of Windows consumer marketing and product management, Brooks oversaw the launch of Windows 7, thought to be the most successful launch in the vendor's history.

Redmond has waved goodbye to a string of key executives in recent months; most recently, it lost its server and tools boss, Bob Muglia, who was responsible for the Azure cloud platform.

In his new role Brooks will take on responsibility for developing Juniper's enterprise marketing strategy, and has been tasked with developing an integrated plan for defining solutions, collateral and selling tools for the channel.

"[He] is a superb global marketer with a track record of driving significant business growth," said Juniper CMO Lauren Flaherty.

"His depth of experience aligns very well with our focus on accelerating the new network," she added.
