The biggest concern holding back wider adoption of cloud services is set to be significantly overcome next year as more security firms deliver hosted products.
Security has been the major brake on cloud and hosted app deployment but Gartner believes those problems have been tackled and next year will see growth and CA Technologies has also staked its colours to the mast predicting an expansion in the market.
Cloud was top of the predictions the vendor has made for what next year holds, along with smart devices replacing laptops, insider security threats increasing and automation tools becoming more widely adopted.
In a blog post CA Technologies senior principal of communications David Resnic stated that the fears around security would diminish next year.
"Today security is still viewed as the biggest barrier to cloud adoption. Organizations struggle with the confidence that they or their cloud provider can adequately secure their data and use of the cloud," he said.
"However, this perception is likely to change this year as stronger, more advanced security options are deployed as cloud services from organizations that specialize in security," he added.
