Cisco and BMC Software have put their marks to a new strategic alliance intended to develop and market large-scale multi-tenant cloud infrastructures.

Under the terms of the agreement the firms plan to share and align their product roadmaps and technology to provide global customers with solutions to "simplify and automate" delivery of cloud services.

The duo have already released a new solution dubbed the Integrated Cloud Delivery Platform pitched at service providers and large-scale private cloud installations.

The companies said they were also working on joint marketing, services, sales, testing and channel certification activities around the solutions.

"[We] have a common vision for advancing cloud with unified infratructure combined with seamless management," said Cisco CTO Padmasree Warrior.

"The Integrated Platform enables our customers to deploy end-to-end IT sevrices running on a cloud infrastructure that spans networks, systems, storage and applications," she added.
