Infrastructure services support specialist Networks First has launched a network maturity assessment tool designed to enable its reseller and integrator partners to identify new opportunities to upsell into their sales targets.
The service allows resellers to identify ways to reduce their customers' networking costs and realign their infrastructure closer to their business goals, Networks First said, besides giving advice on achieving better performance and return on investment.
"By comparing what is currently deployed against recommended best practice we are able to provide organisations with an accurate benchmark of where they are in terms of network maturity," said Networks First head of professional services Jason Peach.
"The final report provides a priority list of actions which will ensure the network assets are being deployed and operated to maximum advantage," he added.
Citing Forrester research that suggested 40% of IT personnel said their approach to network management issues was largely reactive, Peach added that the service would allow resellers to challenge the "fire-fighting" approach to network glitches.
