Hosted network services provider Orange Business Services has signed up to a new alliance with Cisco, EMC and VMware to target enterprises with cloud-based infrastructure and software-as-a-service solutions.

The Flexible 4 Business alliance will target enterprise customers through Orange Business Services, the service provider arm of mobile network operator Orange, with pay-per-use managed cloud solutions based on Cisco, EMC, and VMware technologies, including the pre-existing Vblock infrastructure packages and Cisco's UCS suite.
Orange Business Services CEO Vivek Badrinath said the alliance would make cloud computing a "reachable reality" for a wider cross-section of enterprise uers.
"With the industry's top cloud players we will ease the migration for our enterprise customers," he said.
"Architected properly, customers can benefit from having their own private clouds seamlessly integrated with service provider clouds to deliver on the promise of providing unprecedented gains in operational efficiency, quality of service and business agility for enterprise IT," added Howard Elias, EMC president and COO of information infrastructure and cloud services.
