Wick Hill continues to expand its portfolio in the voice and data convergence distribution space with the appointment of Panasonic.
The distributor has been targeting the voice and data world for the past couple of years signing up a series of vendors including Samsung, VoIP outfit Yealink, comms management vendor Oak and Gamma Telecom to bolster its offering in that market space.
The latest appointment comes as part of Panasonic's expansion plans as part of its drive to address the UC market and a reaction to the growth in converged voice/data solutions.
Wick Hill has been taken on to recruit and train data resellers for the UC market.
Speaking to MicroScope earlier this year chairman of Wick Hill Ian Kilpatrick said that it set out on a course to expand its business after identifying a growing opportunity in the convergence space.
"Strategically we have made a major play with security convergence. We took it on in the recession but we have grown a lot of business in a tough market and the number of resellers who are IP literate who are delivering solutions in that convergence sector is growing," he said back in April.
