Brocade has signed up Computacenter as its first European systems integrator after widening a pre-existing relationship with the firm.
The two companies already worked together in Germany, but under the terms of the deal Computacenter will now sell Brocade's networking and storage lines into the UK to support the vendor's data centre convergence ambitions, as well as growing market demand for end-to-end projects.
Speaking to MicroScope, Brocade EMEA channel director Amanda Giddins said the move supported both Computacenter's existing relationships with Brocade's OEM community, adding: "The fact that they're building out their data centre proposition plays well to our channel strategy."
Computacenter networking practice leader Colin Williams said: "As businesses seek to drive cost out of the network, Brocade ... can help our customers converge network resources thereby reducing physical assets and increasing performance.... We are now able to offer industry-leading networking solutions that deliver true end-to-end business advantage."
Giddins said that Brocade would look to chat up a second and possibly a third major UK systems integrator, but said: "We're looking to work with a select number and are not going to be recruiting massive amounts."
