Radware has officially relaunched the Alteon brand seven months after acquiring the application delivery unit from Nortel.

The Israel-based vendor has pumped hefty amounts of cash into Alteon's R&D operation since the acquisition, and claims to have hired 120 new technical and research staff.

COO Ilan Kinreich reaffirmed Radware's commitment to continued investment in the Alteon line as it unveiled a new application delivery platform, Alteon 5412, today.

"For years, customers have found success with Alteon application switches and our goal is to build on this momentum and evolve the product to deliver an optimal user experience," he said.

Last week Radware revealed record quarterly numbers for the three months to the end of September, growing sales 24% and reversing a year-on-year net loss largely on the back of the acquisition of the Alteon assets.
