Management software specialist CA has unveiled a new managed service provider (MSP) licensing programme in response to what it sees as growing demand from the reseller community to provide data protection software to MSPs.
By submitting your personal information, you agree that TechTarget and its partners may contact you regarding relevant content, products and special offers.
The programme includes CA's ARCserve product line and XOsoft products, which CA says will provide MSP customers with a variety of hosted data protection solutions, such as remote backup and storage-as-a-service, alongside flexible payment options and vendor-provided tech support, among other things.
CA dealers choosing to focus on the MSP market get access to a simplified pricing and licensing model and trial download links.
"We have seen other vendors fail to make data protection MSP offerings work," said Chris Ross, CA vice president of EMEA, Recovery Management & Data Modelling Business Unit.
"There is huge demand for MSPs looking for data protection solutions that can expand their service offerings. We have designed our programme to be simple, flexible and enable 'true' utility-based licensing," he added.
"The ability to pay for CA licensing as it is consumed on a monthly basis will be a great benefit to the service providers that we work with," added Softcat partner services manager Damian Wakefield.
The programme is initially being rolled out in EMEA and will be extended to the rest of the world in the near future, CA said.
