Greg Harris, joint founder of Cloud Distribution said, "We always look for innovative and edgy technologies that we can bring to market and Vyatta fits this mold perfectly. Software-based networking is an extremely innovative approach that is fundamentally changing traditional network infrastructures."
Vyatta, founded in 2006, delivers fast, flexible and secure networks providing virtual routers, virtual firewalls and virtual VPN devices. At a time when applications are being migrated to virtualised datacentres and the cloud, Vyatta claims a particular advantage as it provides the same elasticity and mobility as the application infrastructure it supports.
Jon Arnold, managing director for Europe at Vyatta commented: "We are delighted to be working with Cloud Distribution. Over the past 18 months we've witnessed fantastic take up of our technology across the UK and this is an exciting time in the company's evolution."
Harris continued, "What's great for the VAR community is that Vyatta doesn't advocate a 'rip and replace' strategy, instead, Vyatta's software approach enhances legacy equipment without requiring a completely new technology investment."
Arnold concluded, "We have been impressed by Cloud Distribution's knowledge and understanding of the cloud, virtualisation and networking space and we believe that they have a likeminded philosophy. This is about enabling the channel to embark on a journey from selling hardware and maintenance to selling cloud solutions."
Today's news follows Vyatta's announcement to speed up its software-based routing even more with the introduction of vPlane, a highly scalable forwarding plane for next-generation enterprise and cloud network designs.
