Steve Shine has been named CEO and president of data management specialist Ingres, effective immediately, writes Linda Endersby.
Shine, latterly co-president, joined Ingres in August 2007 from Sysbase EMEA and previously held the positions of EVP of Worldwide Sales and EVP Worldwide Operations.

He has helped establish the company's leadership in open source data management and was instrumental in the launch of its analytic database VectorWise technology.
