The owner at Surrey-based reseller Shift F7 Garry King has stepped back into the managing director's seat following the "mutual" split with previous incumbent Simon Ognall.

Former managing director at Teksys, Ognall joined Shift F7 in May 2009 to take the reigns at the Microsoft Gold partner.
King, who was a contract strategic sourcing manager at Barclays Capital from April 2009 to March 2010, confirmed: "Simon has left by mutual agreement and I'm back in the hot seat".
He said the business built a solutions sales team last year but the return on that investment "has taken longer to come to fruition than we expected...the personnel on board are sound but needed somebody to make them deliver."
On the back of experience gained at Barclays Capital, where King negotiated commercial terms with Microsoft and other IT suppliers, he plans to sell a procurement managed service alongside its traditional operations.
Ognall agreed that the time it took for results to materialise in the solutions team combined with a couple of slower months made him and King realise "a business of Shift F7's size could not support the both of us."
"I'm juggling a couple of opportunities," he told MicroScope, "I plan to stay in the industry, I'm not one of those people having a mid-life crisis that wants to move into property development or become a marine biologist".
