IBM distribution boss Ian Jeffs is taking over the marketing function for mid-market resellers with former Lenovo head of enterprise sales Martin Greason-Walker returning to Big Blue to manage its network of UK wholesalers.
From Monday, Greason-Walker becomes IBM distribution and volume team business unit manager following his departure from Lenovo, which recently revealed Nick Nonini as his replacement.
Channel insiders claimed Greason-Walker will take time to get his feet under the table - though he left IBM in 2005 when he was enterprise sales manager.
"Clearly he does not know the server market that well these days," claimed the source, in a sarcastic reference to Lenovo's struggles in the space.
Current IBM UK server and storage distributors include Arrow ECS, Avnet Technology Solutions, Northamber and ISI, with all four plus Azlan holding the rights to punt Big Blue's software products.
IBM refused to comment.
