Channel veteran Mark Nutt has returned to the vendor fold after joining security firm Symantec to drive sales and strategy across the EMEA region.

Nutt pitched up at Morse in the summer of 2001 as a divisional head having worked at HP for 13 years. During the subsequent decade he held various directorships, but resigned in late 2010 as Morse was integrated into 2e2.
A spokeswoman at Symantec, confirmed Nutt's appointment on 4 January as a senior director for sales operations and strategy EMEA but refused to comment further at the time of going to press.
The biggest challenge facing Symantec, according to Quocirca services director Clive Longbottom, is to unify its sprawling portfolio and build a business rather than a technological case to buy its kit.
"Symantec needs someone to pull everything together and provide a business driver around solving security issues and controlling information, not start customer conversations by talking about products," he said.
