Arrow may be chomping at the bit to step up its development activities in Oracle's hardware and software partner base but the delayed migration to OPN might just hold up proceedings.

"It is early days for us but obviouly we were delighted to be appointed as one of only two distributors in the UK," said Steve Pearce, Arrow UK boss.
He confirmed it had received the commercial Ts&Cs and the teams were in place, saying: "We are looking forward to developing that business".
However, the 15 October deadline for Sun resellers to join Oracle's Partner Network came and went as further issues delayed the process. No official date has been put forward but sources reckon the migration could take until December.
Pearce said the Oracle channel holds a number of opportunities around the joint development of Sun hardware and Oracle software including the renewals process.
"Oracle is a fairly technical environment and with some of the renewals management there are all kinds of opportunities. We see that as a massive growth stream," he said.
The distributor offers a renewals services for IBM, Net App and Checkpoint but recently lost the franchise with HP, who decided to bring Azlan into the fold.
Pearce said he understood why HP had consoidated its channel, claiming Azlan worked with the vendor on a wider number of HP enterprise exhibits so the appointment made sense.
"On the one hand we welcome consolidation because we think it is a better model that vendors are not over-distributed and periodically that works for and aganst you," he told MicroScope.
