Dorchester - who initially joined the firm in the spring of 2008 - replaced Jerry Roest - at the helm of the troubled reseller arm of DSGi but was only put in charge on an interim basis a company spokesman insisted.
"DSGi confirms the departure of Martin Dorchester, who has been managing director of DSGi Business in an interim capacity," the spokesman told MicroScope.
James Welsh, finance development director at DSGi will now temporarily care-take the role "until a permanent successor is appointed."
When Roest took the helm at DSGi Business in 2006, it turned over around £450m but the extent of its slide in fortunes has become apparent.
The spokesman at the firm confirmed that last year the reseller's revenues were £325.8m.
