Microsoft UK is transferring overall control of the partner community to Barry Ridgway as Scott Dodds moves internally to head up the business and marketing operation unit.

Ridgway had undertaken many roles in at the software linchpin, most recently as a business manager reporting to Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner but he now becomes the general manager for small midsize, solutions and partners (SMS&P).

Under the structure Ridgway will have a number of direct reports including Clare Barclay, director of partner strategy and programmes, Simon Aldous, head of SMB and distribution and Shaun Frohlich, director of partner sales.

Outside of the partner business, Amanda Sleight, director of corporate accounts and Mark Smith, who looks after public sector business will also report to Ridgway, as will the yet to be determined boss of Microsoft Business Solutions.

Microsoft confirmed it was in the middle of the transition but refused to comment further until a formal announcement was made externally.
