Business process services provider Xchanging has forked out £6.5m for privately owned networking, security and comms reseller Data Integration (DI).

The deal, which could rise by a further £2.5m dependent on the earn-out, gives the LSE-listed outsourcer a reseller platform, an expanded customer base.

It will also bolster its managed services business operation.

Both have already worked together, DI has been Xchanging's preferred network partner for the last two years, including on the creation of an electronic managed service for claims handling with the London insurance market.

"We see an exciting future for us together as BPO services are increasingly delivered through cloud computing-based technologies," said Xchanging CEO David Andrews in a statement to the City.

Founded in 1998, Hampshire-based DI employs 56 staff and turned over £14.5m for the year ended 31 March 2010.
