Interactive learning technology provider Promethean has tapped industry veteran Jim Wynn to join its senior exec team as Chief Education Officer.

Only last month the firm raised £185.7m by floating on the London Stock Exchange to give it an expected market cap of £400m and believes the Interactive Whiteboard sector has plenty of potential for further growth.

In a career spanning three decades, Wynn has worked as a head teacher, led research at education specialist RM, was boss of Partner for Learning at Microsoft EMEA and most recently served on Cisco's emerging market public sector consultancy.

Jean-Yves Charlier, CEO at Promethean, said of Wynn, "His knowledge of education system across the world, together with the benefits technology can bring to learning, will be invaluable in further shaping Promethean's strategy."
