US retailer Systemax has entered into a final agreement to acquire WStore, providing it with the chance to significantly expand its operations in Europe.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but it is expected to complete in the next quarter. WStore has been running in the UK for a decade, and also has offices in France.

"The European IT market is a large, fragmented marketplace that presents tremendous opportunity for growth. This acquisition will strengthen our presence and enable us to leverage our current infrastructure in France and the UK where we already have substantial operations," said Richard Leeds, chairman and CEO of Systemax.

Systemax has been actively moving to strengthen its position on both sides of the Atlantic in the computer retail market, and last year picked up the assets of defunct US retailer Circuit City.
