Cameron was visiting the city to meet business leaders and among them was Phil Jones, UK sales and marketing director at Brother.
Jones, who is also vice president of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, got stuck into the politician making sure that he headed back to Westminster fully aware of the pain being felt by the channel.
He called on more action to free up credit and an acknowledgement of the damaging impact of exchange rates.
“It was encouraging to hear that David Cameron is listening to businesses and acknowledges the pressures we are all facing,” he said.
