The broadline giant previously expected Pablo Suarez, head of its Export Group in Miami to lead the UK operation but he decided against the move and subsequently left to join Bell Micro’s Latin American business.
Sanderson, who has worked at Ingram Micro for 14 years, ran the UK PC division until he left in 2004 to join the distributor’s Australian outfit, most recently serving as senior director and general manager for the volume business and consumer units.
“Matt is a seasoned professional with a long track record of success within Ingram Micro and within the IT industry. He is an excellent addition to our management team given his understanding of the UK,” said Alain Maquet, Ingram boss of EMEA.
It has also been confirmed that Johan Vandenbussche, currently caretaking Ingram’s top job in the UK which he held before Klein joined Ingram in the summer of 2007, will become regional vice president for the Benelux and UK.
“Johan’s expanded role builds on his in-depth knowledge of the Belgium and UK marketplaces,” added Maquet. “He brings strong relationships with both vendors and customers.”
Vandenbussche – who previously looked after the data capture/point of sales businesses across EMEA – will also maintain business leadership for mergers and acquisitions in the region.
