Security managed services specialist dns has been acquired by SecureWorks providing the US vendor with a UK presence on both sides of the border.

In the last decade dns has established offices in London and Edinburgh and built up a customer base here and in Europe.

SecureWorks already sells into the UK but through the acquisition, details of which remain undisclosed, it gains employees and office space.

Mike Cote, chairman and CEO of SecureWorks, said that it shared the same culture as dns and it was the right partner to acquire to support global expansion plans.

In response Graeme Cox, managing director and founder of dns, said it would be a stronger player following a folding into SecureWorks.

“By combining our local expertise and security consulting talent with SecureWorks’ managed security services, consulting and threat intelligence, we can greatly expand the depth and breadth of services we currently offer our clients,” he said.
