Anti-virus specialist Kaspersky Lab has signed up to sell products to SME customers via Intel’s Business Exchange portal.

The move has been described by sources close to the security vendor as a way of complementing channel efforts as it widens its reach into the small business market.

Kaspersky will sell its Anti Virus 2010 and Internet Security 2010 via the Intel BX portal directly to customers.

Intel is on the hunt for software vendors to sell applications via its portal and Peter Rohr, marketing manager at Intel Business Exchange, said that it looked forward “to other leading brands adding their software”.

Alexey Fedorov, sales manager at Kaspersky Lab, said that the portal would enable it to reach new customers in the UK, France and Germany.
