The role of Symantec's long serving channel director Helen Wood is under review, the company has confirmed.


The role of Symantec’s long serving channel director Helen Wood is under review, the company has confirmed.


Wood became UK channel boss in April 2006 after it acquired Veritas and according to partners was instrumental in building both vendors’ partner communities and described as a “channel advocate” by sources.


A spokeswoman at Symantec told MicroScope: “I can confirm that the UK distribution director role is currently under review, but as yet no final decision has been made.”


It is understood that the role is being restructured and Wood will likely enter into a consultation period with Symantec but the company said “it will not comment on individual circumstances”.


In the summer last year, Symantec added SCH Distribution to its already crowded channel and promised to get rid of one partner.


Despite repeated attempts Wood was unavailable to comment.
