The former boss at Equanet and long serving director at DSGi joined Surrey-based Northamber in June last year but left prior to Christmas and has now surfaced as category director for technology at stationer Banner Office Solutions.
Henry Matthews, Northamber group managing director, said he was currently interviewing candidates for the role but was unwilling to give details for Chatterton's exit.
Banner Business Solutions lists central government bodies including the Department for Work and Pensions among its client base while its other brand Accord sells to SMEs.
Chatterton, who in 1990 began his career as marketing manager for built-in appliances at Bosch, joined Philips Consumer Electronics five years later. He started at PC World as marketing director in 2001.
"Banner and Accord has a tremendous customer base and I am looking forward to broadening [the range of] technology in the portfolio," he told MicroScope.
