Check Point has singled out the channel for praise in helping the security vendor get through a tough year after it recorded increases in revenue and net income for 2009.

The vendor reported improved business across all geographical territories with particularly strong activity in Asia Pacific and added its numbers to a pile of healthy results being issued by the sector.

Total revenues for the year rose by 14% from $808.5m to $924.4m and GAAP net income rose by 10% to $375.5m.

A strong performance in Q4 helped improve the situation with a 25% increase in revenues year-on-year and a 27% rise in net income.

Gil Shwed, chairman and CEO of Check Point, said the results had exceeded its expectations and the growth "came from all product lines and across all regions" and he thanked resellers for contributing to the results.
