The UK high-tech market is showing resilience despite
the economic crisis, with IT-revenues set to grow 1.3% this year,
according to European market research organisation
EITO.
EITO said software and IT
services were continuing to drive growth, although the telecom
market was slowing down after a strong performance in 2008.

EITO said overall IT sales in Western Europe were expected to
increase by 2% in 2009.
Sales for computers, software and IT services in Western Europe
will be worth £296bn for the year.
"IT expenditure of businesses will continue to grow even in an
economic recession", said EITO chairman Bruno Lamborghini.
"Information technology is of strategic importance for companies in
a crisis situation because it makes operations more efficient and
more economic."
