Podcast interview: Stephen Glen, WorkIT on hosting and private clouds

In this podcast, Stephen Glen, software architecture engineer at WorkIT, talks about hosting, cloud computing and how the company is using services from BSO Network Solutions.

WorkIT provides price comparison products and is using a managed service provided by BSO Network Solutions and datacentre operator Equinix for its price comparison product, that it sells to retailers and manufacturers. 

"We want to be responsible for our own server stack. But we use BSO for its expertise with any of the equipment we use in our environment," he said. "BSO is also a global company, which means WorkIT can grow when it needs to.

WorkIT is looking to change its infrastructure, but is using hosting currently.

"From a personal perspective, I believe that private cloud can provide a lot of benefits. With every technology you must use it where it is appropriate to use, but equally you should not be afraid to use it because you haven't used it before it," said Glen.
