Symantec rolls out enhanced Secure One partner programme

A partner programme that makes it easier to get rebates and become a top tier partner has been rolled out globally by Symantec

Symantec has dusted down its partner programme as it rolls out a number of enhancements designed to try and make life easier and more profitable for both resellers and distributors.

The vendor, which since hiving off the Veritas data management business, can now put all of its focus on security and improving life for its channel partners.

The global Secure One partner programme simplifies competency and certification requirements and has added a growth accelerator rebate and a new distributor programme to make sure that resellers are given even more support.

The reseller programme came into effect from today with the distribution elements of the programme coming into force slightly later.

The promise of Secure One is that resellers will find it easier to gain platinum status with the requirements to get to the top tier having been streamlined.

There is also an intention that the programme will make it possible for partners to get paid faster and will get the chance to get access to higher rebates through the Growth Accelerator Rebate that gives a new business goal and pays out on the first transaction.

“With an increased focus on cybersecurity and a strengthened portfolio aimed squarely at solutions that address today’s most sophisticated attackers, we’re rolling out Symantec Secure One to enable our partners to leverage our products and services to grow their businesses,” said John Thompson, global senior vice president of partner and channel sales, Symantec.

“At its core, the enhanced program provides our partners with a clear path to take advantage of the innovation and growth we expect to drive as the world’s largest cybersecurity company.”

Earlier this summer, Keith Bird, who runs Symantec in the UK and Ireland, said that it was open to expanding its channel numbers.

"We have a superb channel and there are always opportunities for other partners to join us," he said back in July.
