Appcelerator: cross-platform mobile apps using JavaScript

Source:  Appcelerator

Appcelerator’s Titanium is another product which blurs the boundaries between a native and non-native solution. Titanium uses the JavaScript language and its own framework to target numerous mobile platforms including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry. It can also include HTML, but can build apps that do not rely on the embedded browser, unlike PhoneGap.

The energetic activity around cross-platform development does mean difficult choices, but is there any way developers can hedge their bets? The answer is to build back-end services that will work well with clients on any platform, including the Web, enabling rapid response to changing demands for client applications.
