London's organising committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games plans to deliver interactive online content around the 2012 sporting events.
To achieve this, the committee is to use a software-as-a-service platform from Cisco to create, manage and grow online communities related to the Olympic Games.
"We want to engage audiences directly and personally for London 2012," said Alex Balfour, head of new media for the London organising committee.
The Cisco platform will enable the organising committee to build, administer and manage multiple communities of content, as well as analyse traffic patterns and user behaviour to boost audience engagement and retention, he said.
The first of the London 2012 communities is set to go live later this year using the Cisco Eos platform.
The project is an extension of Cisco's role as the official network infrastructure provider for the London 2012 Games.
