Virtual environment aids patch testing

Arif Mohamed

The IT industry is starting to address patch management in a virtual server environment. The latest company to offer virtual testing technology is Enteo.

Rolling out applications and patches in a thin client environment can be problematic for IT departments because any flaw in the software has the potential to affect a large number of users.

To overcome this, IT managers can use virtualisation technology to emulate the IT environment and test software before it is deployed.

The latest version of Enteo Management Suite for Citrix Presentation Server, which automates application and patch distribution, offers reporting and modelling tools that allow IT managers to assess the potential impact of new software on systems.
