WAFS products support the
efficient exchange of data between remote locations over a WAN,
allowing remote offices to access data from a data center as if it
were local. WAFS can typically support a wide range of applications
across virtually any WAN link. WAN optimization is often (but not
always) included with WAFS products, using compression and data
reduction techniques to reduce bandwidth requirements or make
better us of existing bandwidth. The following product snapshots
highlight key specifications for a cross section of WAFS and WAN
optimization products intended for small, medium, and large
organizations. The following products were selected based on input
