The much anticipated Start menu returns in Windows 10, which will be a huge relief for PC desktop and laptop users. The GUI in this technical preview release looks incredibly clean. I am using Build 9841 and Microsoft has preinstalled a range of apps including Weather, Travel, Maps, News etc, all familiar to Windows 8 users. Some appear as live tiles on the right side of the Start menu. There's Skype, and traditional Windows 7-style shortcuts for Pictures and Documents folders. You also get Maintenance,Windows Accessories, Windows Ease of Access and Windows System folders.
