Dry-pre action fire suppression in fire planning

In this dry-pre action fire suppression article from Computer Weekly’s sister site Searchdatacenter.com you will find out about an alternative to wet systems: Dry pre-action fire suppression.

In wet systems, water based sprinklers contain water in its piping network which is discharged when the sprinkler’s thermal element heats to the point where it is compromised.

In a dry system obviously water is not present all of the time. Instead the system includes a valve on the pipe which feeds the water, which remains closed until water is required.

Learn which type of fire protection system is better suited for your data centre by reading the full article here.

This slide show provides tips and advice on how to prevent and protect against fire in the data centre.

On the next slide learn about water versus gas based fire suppression.
